Spilling Hearts

Hello! It's the last blog post for the year and since everyone is making valentine themed cards, I thought I would jump on that bandwagon. This is also another entry in the fantastic Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge http://papersmoochessparks.blogspot.com/2014/12/december-28-january-3-designer-drafts.html. Take a look.

The super fun patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye and die cut using the Stitched Rectangles dies from Simon Says Stamp. That lovely little shopping bag is die cut using Paper Smooches Shopping Bag die and then stamped using Blossoming Buds stamp set from Paper Smooches as well. I did some quick selective stamping with a bit of Post It tape to change the sentiment a bit. I then die cut lots of hearts from scrap cardstock and leftover glitter paper. The heart dies used are the Mini Hearts Die set from SSS, Line Shape dies from SSS, Stitched Party Banners from Lawn Fawn and Snow Day dies from Lawn Fawn as well. I also used a tiny heart punch from Stampin Up. I used a bit of foam tape for some dimension for those spilling hearts and called it a day. Thank you so much for checking out my final card of the year. See you next year!

You're Lovely

Hi again. It's yet another card for this super fun Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge http://papersmoochessparks.blogspot.com/2014/12/december-28-january-3-designer-drafts.html. I thought I would do some fun watercoloring today, take a look.

I white heat embossed the flowers from the Blossoming Buds stamp set from Paper Smooches onto some Strathmore cold press watercolor paper. I brought the flowers to life with some Peerless watercolors and die cut the edge with the Avery Elle Custom Panels die after it dried. I stamped the sentiment in Aquamarine pigment ink from Avery Elle and then clear heat embossed it for some shine. I tried to keep it simple today. Thank you for the visit today. I'll see you soon.

Unicorn Hello

Hi there. I made another card for the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge http://papersmoochessparks.blogspot.com/2014/12/december-28-january-3-designer-drafts.html. I couldn't resist making another card, the layout is just so fun. Here's a look at the card.

I used the Spectrum stamp set for the unicorn, Copic colored it and then fussy cut it out. The teal vellum is from Studio Calico, I used the Sparkle and Shine stamp set for the polka dots and some Ranger Enchanted Gold embossing powder to make them sparkle. For the top polka dot panel, I used a stencil from Heidi Swapp and some Ranger texture paste. When the texture paste dried, I went over the paste with some Tim Holtz Distress inks lightly in Evergreen Bough and Squeezed Lemonade. The hello sentiment is a die from Studio Calico that I cut from some gold glitter cardstock and did an inlay into the texture paste panel. For just a bit more interest, I placed some gold embroidery thread behind that awesome unicorn and called it a day. That's it for now, thanks so much for visiting today. See you soon.

Grateful for You

Hello there. It's challenge time again. This one is for the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge http://papersmoochessparks.blogspot.com/2014/12/december-28-january-3-designer-drafts.html. This card layout is so fun, I couldn't resist entering the challenge. Here's a look.

I went with a simple design for this card. I used the Blossoming Buds stamp set from Paper Smooches for the flowers and sentiment. I just did some Copic coloring for the flowers and black heat embossed the sentiment on some vellum. I kept this one clean and simple and stuck to the layout. That's it for now, thank you so much for visiting today. See you soon.

Winter Wishes

Hello again. I couldn't resist making another quick card with the Simon Says Stamp January card kit. Here's a look at the card.
The patterned paper is from the card kit, I just cut the panel with SSS Stitched Rectangle die. I die cut the hearts from some foil paper from Michaels using the Line Shape Dies from Simon Says Stamp and did a quick inlay into the patterned paper. The snowflakes are from the Hand Lettered Winter Wishes stamp set that came with the kit, I went over them with a touch of Perfect Pearl pigment powder in the color Perfect Pearl and added a little bling in the center. I silver heat embossed the sentiment and added some ribbon and a little jingle bell for some fun. That's it for now, thanks so much for the visit. I'll see you soon.

Christmas Blessings Inlay

Hi there! It's been a while since my last post, holidays have me so busy. I got my Simon Says Stamp card kit yesterday and made a Christmas card that's going to be a bit late. Here's a look.
The SSS card kit is the January kit, I'm in love with the colors. I cut the paper panel using the SSS Stitched Rectangles die and the patterned paper that comes in the kit. I used the Endless Wishes stamp set from Stampin Up and Perfect Pearls for the stamped snowflakes. I die cut the sentiment using SSS Christmas Blessings die from the patterned paper and once again using some white glitter paper. I did a careful inlay of the glittered sentiment and then die cut the snowflake from My Favorite Things Pierced Snowflakes. I covered the cut snowflake panel with some vellum and used some foam tape to assemble the shaker. The sequins are from Neat and Tangled Birthday Bash. I guess that's it for now. Thanks so much for visiting today. I'll see you soon.

Warm Heart

Hi there! It's time for another challenge. This little card is for the Lawnscaping Challenge #96, Christmas cards. I poured lots of Lawn Fawn into this little guy. Lets take a look.

I stamped and masked images from Critters in the Arctic and Winter Penguin and did a quick Copic coloring on them. I masked all the images and went over the card with Distress inks in Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Broken China and Tumbled Glass. After blending, I added splatter of water mixed with Ranger Perfect Pearls for some shine. I silver heat embossed the sentiment from Snow Day. I put some foam tape behind that little heart for some dimension and rounded the corners with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. That's it for now, thanks for the visit. I'll see you soon.

NFL Birthday

Hello there! I thought I would add another card entry for the Avery Elle AEIHeartUChallenge #19, http://aeiheartuchallenge.blogspot.com/inlaid die cuts. What a fun challenge! Here's a look.
 Challenge 19
This card was made for a huge Steelers fan, can you tell? I used the Simon Says Stamp Balloons die set to die cut the balloons. The inlaid colored diamonds were cut using Avery Elle Finished Frames die set. The yellow happy birthday sentiment was die cut using Mama Elephant dies. The black stamped sentiment is from the Avery Elle Party Animal stamp set. The striped paper is from the Dots and Stripes 6x6 paper pad from Studio Calico. I went over the balloons with a clear Wink of Stella brush marker for some shine. That's it for now, thanks for checking out this little card today. See you soon.

Balloon Animal Birthday

Hi there! This is my very first time entering a project for an Avery Elle challenge. It's the AEIHeartUChallenge #19, Inlaid Die Cuts http://aeiheartuchallenge.blogspot.com/  I love this little card, let's hope they like it too. Here's a look.
 Challenge 19
I used the Avery Elle Party Animal stamp/die set. I used Studio Calico Clean Slate ink and 3rd generation stamped the balloon for a super light image. I went in with some Spectrum Noir markers to color and shade the balloons before die cutting them to inlay them into the white glitter cardstock. I used the tiny stars from the Avery Elle Finished Frames die set to do a silver star inlay into that white glitter cardstock. I silver heat embossed the sentiment from the AE Brushed stamp set onto some vellum. That's it for now, wish me luck. Thanks for visiting today, see you soon.

Sparkle Joy

Hello hello! I'm so excited to share another card for the Lawn Fawn Lawnscaping Challenge #95, white on white monochromatic projects. Here's a look at my little shaker card.

I used some circle dies from Sizzix to cut the area for the ornaments. I used Lawn Fawn Deck the Halls stamp set for all of the stamped images. I die cut the sentiment from some glitter cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Scripty Joy die. Those teeny tiny vellum bows were cut using Avery Elle Finished Frames die set. Pretty simple, I just wish the card photographed a bit better. Thanks for checking out this little guy today. See you soon.

All is Calm

Hello there! I've been super busy with the holidays and haven't posted in a few weeks. Let's get back to it! This little card is for my first entry for the Lawn Fawn Lawnscaping Challenge #95, white on white monochromatic projects. Here's what I came up with.
I used a Darice embossing folder for the birch trees vellum panel. The snowdrift panel was cut using Avery Elle Custom Panels die. I stamped the little bunny using Lawn Fawn Snow Day stamp set. I die cut the vellum banner using Darice Nesting Book Pages dies. The sentiment was white heat embossed using Lawn Fawn Violet's ABCs and the snowflakes are from LF Deck the Halls. The twine is Lawn Fawn, Lawn Trimmings in Cloudy. Pretty simple. That's it for now, thanks for visiting today. See you soon.

Joy Snowman

Hi there! Here's another card for OCC Holiday Card Workshop, Day 6 Coloring. My background didn't blend like I wanted it to but here it is anyway.
The inlay of the joy sentiment is the Scripty Joy die from Lawn Fawn. The blue foil cardstock is from Recollections from Michaels.  The snowman is from Close to my Heart. I used some clear glitter and Ranger Glossy Accents for the snow. I used Copic markers for the background and trees. I went in with a white gel pen for some added snow around the snowman. That's it for now. Thanks so much for the visit today. See you soon.

Winter Penguin

Hello. It's Day 6 at OCC Holiday Card Workshop. Coloring. I did a quick card with a little penguin that I did some Copic coloring on. Here he is.
This little card was inspired by Debby Hughes. I used the Winter Penguin stamp set from Lawn Fawn. Actually, the patterned paper is from the Snow Day collection from Lawn Fawn and the twine is from them as well. I used my homemade stencil for the snowfall and some Ranger Texture paste. I white heat embossed the sentiment on vellum and called it a day. That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by. See you soon.

Joy Shaker Tag

Hi there! It's Day 5 at OCC Holiday Card Workshop. It's gift tag day. Here's a quick shaker tag inspired by Yana Smakula.
I cut the circle tag using the Art Philosophy cartridge from Cricut at 4 inches, twice. I used the Christmas Tree Cutout die from My Favorite Things for the window portion of the shaker. The snowflake stamp is from the Deck the Halls stamp set from Lawn Fawn stamped in Surf Blue ink from Simon Says Stamp. The joy cutout is from the Scripty Joy die from Lawn Fawn cut with LF patterned paper from the Snow Day collection. I went over the snowflakes and the joy cutout with clear Wink of Stella for a touch of shine. The twine is from Lawn Fawn as well. That's it for now. Thanks for checking out this cute little tag today. See you soon.

Live, Love, Sparkle

Hello there! It's Day 4 at OCC Holiday Card Workshop. It's one layer card day. I tried my best for a one layer but it turned out to be a bit more. Here's my take on Jennifer McGuire's card.
It's not exactly a holiday card, but that's ok. I'll put it in the stash and use it as a "Just Because" card for someone special. I did the partial die cutting technique using Lawn Fawn Into the Woods die and a scalloped circle from Sizzix. I wanted a soft color palate for this card so I did a quick color blend with Distress inks in Tea Dye and Tattered Rose for the inside of the card. I went over the Distress colored circle with a Chevron stencil from Clear Scraps and some Ranger Texture paste. The sentiment is from the Papertrey Ink Sparkle & Shine stamp/die set. I stamped the sentiment in Tattered Rose Distress ink, the glitter is Peruvian Lily from Sparkle n Sprinkle, the ribbon is from May Arts. That's it for now. Thanks for checking out my little card today. See you soon.

So Very Blessed Watercolor

Hi there! Here's another card from watercolor day at OCC Holiday Card Workshop. I messed up my last piece of Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock so I had to resort to a piece of mixed media paper. The mixed media paper pad is from Bienfang, 40 sheets of 5.5 x 8.5 for less than $10 at Staples. The sheets are not as thick as the Tim Holtz paper but get the job done when you need it. Here's my take on Kristina's card.
So, I don't have watercolors...yet. I just used Distress inks for this. I squashed the ink pads onto my acrylic block and used them as watercolors. The inks I used are Evergreen Bough, Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord and Black Soot. The sentiment is from Neat and Tangled. The snowflakes are from Stampin Up Endless Wishes. The sequins are Simon Says Stamp Moonshine. That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by. See you soon.

Watercolor Wreath

Hello there. It's watercolor day in OCC Holiday Card Workshop. I only had 2 pieces of Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock left so I didn't want to mess the whole card up by trying to recreate the woodgrain background. So, my little card looks a bit stark. Here's my simple take on Dawn's card.

I didn't have a wreath to stamp but I did have this little stamp set from Lawn Fawn! I stamped the branches in Distress ink and went over them with a watercolor brush. I used Shabby Shutters for the first layer, Forest Moss for the second and Peeled Paint for the last. I tried to make those cool red berries but they turned out terrible. I tried to put some clear Wink of Stella and Ranger Glossy Accents on them to make them look better...no luck. After the Glossy Accents dried, I scraped the red mess off and covered the sad spots with some sequins, a banner and a die cut bow. The banner and bow die are from Papertrey Ink Tinsel and Tags collection. The white heat embossed sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful. The patterned paper is Lawn Fawn Snow Day. I'll try again when I get some more paper in. Thanks for checking out my little card today. See you soon.

Shine Bright

Hello there! It's Day 2 in OCC Holiday Card Workshop, interactive cards. This is my take on Jennifer McGuire's ornament card. Take a look.

This card was so much fun! Copic coloring is one of my favorite things to do, it was fun to be able to color Anya twice! I used The Greeting Farm's Holiday Anya and stamped her twice so she could still be a part of the card when the ornament is taken out. I silver heat embossed the sunburst from Merry & Bright by Julie Ebersole. The sentiment is from the Sparkle & Shine stamp/die set from Papertrey Ink. I stamped the "bright" sentiment in Stazon Jet Black ink and went around the sentiment with a Copic marker on the back side of the vellum to bring in a touch of color. The twine is from Lawn Fawn called Peppermint. That's it for today, thanks for checking out my work today. See you soon.

Gold Splatter Christmas Blessings

Hi again. Here's one more card from Day 1 of OCC Holiday Card Workshop. This is my take on Debby Hughes card.

I really wanted that nifty rounded edge tag, so I made one from a circle die. I just rounded the bottom corners with my corner chomper and got the same look, my pocketbook thanks me. I used the Christmas Blessings dies from Simon Says Stamp for the sentiment. The large white snowflake is from My Favorite Things. I die cut circles from Lawn Fawn Snow Day patterned paper and then white heat embossed the snowflake from Stampin Up Endless Wishes. The twine is from Lawn Fawn. That's all for now. Thanks for checking out my work today. See you soon.

Sentiment Tree

Hi there. Here's another card from Day 1 of OCC Holiday Card Workshop. This is my take on  Jennifer McGuire's card.
The stamp sets that were used in this card include Endless Wishes from Stampin Up, Merry & Bright by Julie Ebersole, Peace on Earth from Simon Says Stamp and Send Joy from Studio Calico. The inks used are Midnight Green from SSS, Emerald City, Well Red, and Lime Light from SC. The white paper panel and green foil paper bow were die cut using Avery Elle's Finished Frames dies. The gems are from Spellbinders. Cardstock is Lipstick Red from SSS. That's it for now, thanks for visiting today. See you soon.

Joy to the World

Hello. So excited to be taking Online Card Classes Holiday Card Workshop this year, the best part is being able to take the class with a friend. Here's my take on Kristina Werner's card.

I couldn't get my hands on the stencil for the snowfall look, so I made my own. I just cut up a folder and used my We R Memory Keepers Crop a Dile until I was happy with the amount of dots for snowfall. I silver heat embossed the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Peace on Earth and added patterned paper from Lawn Fawn Snow Day for just above the navy panel. The twine is from Lawn Fawn as well. The background stamp for the green card is from My Favorite Things Cheesecloth stamped in Khaki ink from SSS. That's it for now, thanks for stopping by. See you soon.

Hope Anchors

Hello there! I thought I would make a quick card using this stamp that I wanted for a long time from Neat & Tangled. Here's the card.
The patterned paper is from Studio Calico from the Underground card kit from October. I silver heat embossed the sentiment from Neat & Tangled onto some vellum and cut the panel with Avery Elle Finished Frames. The black and white sequins are from Teresa Collins Save the Date and the clear sequins are Simon Says Stamp Moonshine. That's it for now, thanks for stopping by. See you soon.

Candy Coffin Box

Hello! I finally finished them! I made 30 candy coffin boxes for my son's class, friends and teachers. These boxes are perfect for Simon Says Stamp Monday Treat Challenge. Here's a look.
I used the Artiste Cricut cartridge for the boxes, cut at 5 inches. I die cut the peephole with Sizzix circle dies and then used a Darice embossing folder for the web detail on the lids. I stamped the monsters using Monster Mash by Lawn Fawn and gave them some color with Copic markers. The banner was cut using a die from Studio Calico Penny Arcade card kit from July and the sentiment is from the Monster Mash stamp set. I burnished the edges of the coffins with some Dew Drop Starlite Silver pigment ink from Tsukineko. The spider webs are from Target, I used a bit of tape to secure it. That's it for now, thanks for checking these spooky guys out today. See you soon.

Be Joyful

Hello there! I just got some happy mail today so I thought I would make a quick card. Here it is.
I received my Simon Says Stamp card kit and some goodies from My Favorite Things today! I thought I would put them together since they were both Christmas themed. The patterned paper panel is from Lawn Fawn Snow Day petite paper pack. I used the reverse side of the stamp packaging from the SSS Be Joyful stamp set to die cut the snowflake using a die from My Favorite Things. I die cut the snowflake from the patterned paper and did the inlay of the white snowflake. I did a quick wash over the snowflake with some clear Wink of Stella. I white heat embossed the sentiment onto some Doodlebug paper and the gray polka paper is from SSS July card kit. The red sparkle brad and enamel dots are from My Mind's Eye. I rounded the corners with We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. I used foam tape for the patterned paper panel and sentiment. That's it for today. Thanks for the visit. See you soon.

You're a Hoot

Hello! I'm participating in another challenge. This time, it's for Paper Smooches. I don't think I have a chance of winning at all (there was a stamp designer with an entry) but I thought it would be fun to enter this little pretty bird anyway. Plus, don't we all love a little Paper Smooches? Here it is.

I used a free digi stamp from the Paper Smooches blog because I wanted to make something with a Halloween theme. I used Distress Inks in Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord and Chipped Sapphire for the background. I stamped the clouds using the Spectrum stamp set from PS. I printed out the owl and gave her a quick coloring with Copics and masked her off so I could make it look like she was in front of the moon. I used Mustard Seed Distress Ink for the moon and Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banners to die cut the circle. I used the Dots & Dashes dies from Paper Smooches for the strip down the middle of the inked panel. The patterned papers behind the sentiment are from Doodlebug. That's it for now, thanks for stopping by today. See you soon.
