A Pawsome Day

Hello there! I'm up on the Ink Road Blog with this adorable pooch today. I'm sharing a fun idea to stretch your dies, lets take a look at the card.
Isn't he the cutest? I'll show you how I made those fun waves this little guy is floating around in.
I die cut a piece of cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles dies. I used the Puffy Cloud Borders dies from Lawn Fawn to make the waves! The portion of the paper without the stitching becomes the waves! Let me show you how I masked off the cardstock panel to get the effect.
I placed the stitched, puffy clouds toward the top of the cardstock panel and secured it with some sticky notes. I used a blending tool from Tim Holtz and some Memento ink in Bahama Blue. The key to smooth blending is to tap the blending tool off on some scratch paper and then blend from the edge of the cardstock inward. Tapping off the blending tool before each wave of blending helps reduce round sponge marks and gives you better blending.
Now lets add some dimension to those waves. I used the wave cardstock piece and taped it down with a bit of washi tape. The panel is slightly offset for some added dimension. I used the blending tool and Memento ink in Danube Blue and blended upward lightly. I dropped the wave panel and repeated once again.
The adorable dog is from the Woof stamp set from Neat and Tangled. I stamped the dog and his accessories in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and did some quick Copic coloring before I cut them out. I white heat embossed the sentiment onto some black cardstock and popped it up with some foam tape for some interest. The patterned paper is from Avery Elle.

XOXO Paris Cutie

Hello there. I'm up on the Ink Road blog once again. I have a simple, whimsical card for you today. Let's take a look.
Isn't she adorable? I used the Paris stamp set from Neat and Tangled. I stamped her with Copic friendly Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Here's a quick look at the markers I used to color her hair.
I stamped the little girl and cut her out. I colored her with Copic markers. The pink patterned paper is from Pebbles called Cottage Living by Jen Hadfield. I took a piece of black cardstock and rounded the corners with my We R Memory Keepers corner chomper. I used the Scripty XOXO die from Lawn Fawn to die cut into the black cardstock. I used the same die to cut the sentiment from some white glitter cardstock and did a quick inlay into the black cardstock for some interest.  Her cute glasses are from the Dear Lizzy Serendipity collection of ephemera. I finished the card with some Wood Veneer Hearts from Lawn Fawn. Here's a quick list of products used for the card.

Love Ewe

Hello there! This is my first blog post for The Ink Road I have a fun Valentine's Day card for you today since it's just around the corner. Let's have a look at the card.
I took some process photos so you have an idea how I got those cute sheep into their frames.

I used the Baaah Humbug stamp set from Lawn Fawn and the Flirty Frames from them as well. I stamped the frame with Memento Tuxedo Black and once again onto some scrap paper. I cut out the inside of the frame to mask off the sheep's feet.
After the sheep were masked and stamped I did some quick Copic coloring to bring them to life.
This adorable patterned paper is from Crate Paper, the Hello, Love collection. The card base measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 so I cut the patterned paper accordingly. I used the I Love You Border die from Lawn Fawn to cut the sentiment from some black glittered cardstock. I die cut the sentiment once again, removing the bottom portion of the patterned paper panel. I adhered the patterned paper to the card base and then carefully glued the black sentiment to the card base. I die cut the frames with the Flirty Frames dies and added some foam tape behind them for a bit of dimension. The tiny hearts were die cut from red glittered cardstock using the Finished Frames die set from Avery Elle.  These products are available at The Ink Road shop.
